LarkWell Valais Blacknose Sheep - cute, docile, and full of character.
From the moment we saw our first valais blacknose sheep, we fell in love and knew we had to have some. We are now proud owners and breeders of two separate bloodlines. Their docile nature, and character alongside, their hardiness and low maintenace makes them a perfect addition to any flock or small holding.
Embryos, bearing ewes, and lambs available.
We are able to provide embryos, pregnant ewes and lambs throughout the UK.
We are an MV accredited flock.
How does purchasing embryos work?
After Artificially Inseminating (AI) our ewes with semen, the ewes then undergo a procedure called flushing. During this procedure embryos are are taken from the ewes by a veterinarian. These are then stored and ready for transplanting. We are able to provide embryos at this stage or we can transplant into one of our ewes, which is described below.
The embryos can be transplanted into any breed of sheep. We choose mules due to their mothering abilities, e.g. milk and fertility. These ewes then bear the lambs and rear them as their own.
